Coaching, counseling, and mentoring is a part of the leader’s job as a human developer. Manager or a good leader does not just “getting the job done” or task-oriented, but also must have a mindset as a human developer. Helping employees to be able to complete their task optimally while helping the person personally to be able to achieve his/her “best self” or be the best of himself/herself is currently believed to be the genuine achievement of a leader.
The capability of coaching, counseling, and mentoring needs to be owned by any superior or any individual who wants to help the development of human resources in the organization, to be able to empower, motivate and encourage cooperation subordinates to achieve a common goal. Coaching is done by a Coach (coaching people) by asking a series of questions with the aim of coachee (the person in the coach) find the answers from within himself/herself. In a coaching, the coach did not provide a solution to the coachee, but guided to find a solution through the excavation of the self. Counseling Is a supportive process in which a supervisor helps his/her subordinates to resolve the personal problems that affect to the performance of subordinates. Whole mentoring needs to be done by the superior in order to systematically support his/her subordinates to be able to do the job properly and correctly, by demonstrating, explaining, and giving examples.
In this program, participants will learn the conversation techniques as well as giving questions techniques that could help a person to show his/her best competence. With the constructive and positive process of dialogue as well as conversation could help others to solve his/her problems. In addition, those processes push people to have the ability to give questions to themselves in order to evolve independently. The conversations are openly session, collaborative atmosphere encourages interaction to achieve goals, improve performance and encourage subordinates to go forward. The benefits will be felt after the coaching, counseling, and mentoring session ends. By a role play method among participants, the participants will also gain the benefit from this technique towards their personally development.
This two-day program will be carried out with the active learning method in the composition of 60% practical and 40% theoretical, thus after workshop completion the participants are expected to have a basic ability to perform and implement coaching, counseling, and mentoring in the workplace.
